Smart Girl!

The other night, Will was playing w/Ella in the den. After awhile, he asked, "Where's Mama?" Ella walked straight back to our bedroom, entered, and saw that the bathroom door was shut and heard the shower going. She reported back to Daddy with the bath sign.
He was so impressed, he came right back there to tell me.

What all can Ella sign? Are you going to continue learning sign?

Way to go Ella, smart girl!
I am impressed!

hmmm, let's see...
bird, plane, dog, kitty, milk, more, eat, bath, hurt, flower, windchimes, deer, tree, daddy, hat, book, please, bunny, monkey, baby, rain, car, phone, potty, change, all done, train, star, yum...I think that's about all-we're working on thank you right now. Most we've used from the sign book but if they didn't have the sign we needed, we adapted and made up our own.

p.s. I haven't forgotten about your height question for Ella-I just haven't measured her in awhile and keep forgetting to do it. Hopefully, I'll know soon. :-)

Letisha, also, hope you weren't offended I didn't tag you for the Christmas thing-I remembered you said y'all didn't really celebrate Christmas, so I figured you'd rather not do it.

I have to say my favorite sign she does is the bunny rabbit. Jeff and I have been doing that at each other constantly since seeing her do it...teeth bared, arms straight out...too cute! :)
What sign book are you using?

Too cute-I bet y'all make great bunny rabbits! :-) That's our favorite too!
We use Sign with your Baby by Joseph Garcia.

Supermom: I'm amazed at how many signs she knows! When do you sleep? Eat?

She's just a quick learner. :-)

Our library had a DVD of his. I requested for the book and will get it later. I watched the dvd last night. He made it look so easy and fun. I am definately going to work harder than just "more" on signing with Trevor! How long after you started showing her signs did she sign her first word? I think that is where I quit with Rachel. She never signed back and I did not give her enough time to learn and do it. Thanks for the tip on his book!

Well, my first word w/Ella was milk-probably introduced that at 7 months. I
don't think she did it until 10 months. We tried "more" next but she didn't get
that one until about 14 months. "Car" was at about 13 months. She picked up on that one right away. Then suddenly at
15 months, she just started catching on immediately. The same day she would
learn a new word, she'd start signing it. I guess every child is different. I
know Garcia said his child picked up on it at about 7 or 8 months. Good luck
w/Trevor. I'm sure your persistance will pay off.
